In general, red wigglers DO NOT consume animal products. Additionally, it’s very likely that scrambled eggs in your worm bin would attract unwanted pests and rot. So, avoid the unnecessary hassle and finish your breakfast!
What about Egg Shells?
And while it sorta seems as if compost worms are vegan, they do make an exception for egg shells. The humble eggshell proves to be a hard worker in the worm compost bin.
Dried and pulverized eggshells:
- provide the calcium and phosphorus that neutralizes pH in the bedding.
- become the grit worms use to grind food in their gizzard.
- are a food source.
